1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Everyday Financial ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Everyday Financial is a household budgeting application that helps you track income, expenses, savings, debts, and bills. The Service is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Accounts and Households

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Each account may belong to one or more households. Household owners can invite members and manage permissions. You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

4. Your Data

Your financial data (transactions, budgets, debts, bills, and savings) is stored securely and is only accessible to members of your household. We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal financial data. You may export or delete your data at any time through the application settings.

5. AI-Powered Categorization

The Service includes an AI categorization feature that helps automatically categorize your transactions. When enabled, transaction descriptions and amounts are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. No personally identifiable information such as your name, email, account numbers, or household details is included in these requests. You can disable this feature at any time in Settings > Auto-Categorize.

6. Community Categorization

The Service includes a community categorization feature that improves transaction categorization accuracy across all users. When enabled, anonymized merchant names and their assigned categories are contributed to a shared pool. No transaction amounts, dates, account details, or personally identifiable information is shared. Contributions are associated with your household ID solely for deduplication purposes and cannot be used to identify you. You can disable this feature at any time in Settings > Auto-Categorize.

7. Default Feature Settings

AI categorization and community categorization are enabled by default for new households to provide the best experience. Both features are designed with privacy in mind and can be independently disabled at any time from your household settings without any impact on the rest of the Service.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to access other users' data, circumventing security controls, submitting false or misleading data to the community categorization system, or using the Service for any illegal purpose.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control. The offline mode allows limited functionality when an internet connection is unavailable.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the application. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of your financial data. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Significant changes will be communicated through the application.

12. Account Termination

You may delete your account and data at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our data practices.
